सूर्य देवता को अर्घ्य देने की आसान विधि :
- सर्वप्रथम प्रात:काल सूर्योदय से पूर्व शुद्ध होकर स्नान करें।
- तत्पश्चात उदित होते सूर्य के समक्ष कुश का आसन लगाएं।
- आसन पर खड़े होकर तांबे के पात्र में पवित्र जल लें।
- उसी जल में मिश्री भी मिलाएं। कहा जाता है कि सूर्य को मीठा जल चढ़ाने से जन्मकुंडली के दूषित मंगल का उपचार होता है।
- मंगल शुभ हो तब उसकी शुभता में वृद्दि होती है।
- जैसे ही पूर्व दिशा में सूर्यागमन से पहले नारंगी किरणें प्रस्फूटित होती दिखाई दें, आप दोनों हाथों से तांबे के पात्र को पकड़ कर इस तरह जल चढ़ाएं कि सूर्य जल चढ़ाती धार से दिखाई दें।
- प्रात:काल का सूर्य कोमल होता है उसे सीधे देखने से आंखों की ज्योति बढ़ती है।
- सूर्य को जल धीमे-धीमे इस तरह चढ़ाएं कि जलधारा आसन पर आ गिरे ना कि जमीन पर।
- जमीन पर जलधारा गिरने से जल में समाहित सूर्य-ऊर्जा धरती में चली जाएगी और सूर्य अर्घ्य का संपूर्ण लाभ आप नहीं पा सकेंगे। अर्घ्य देते समय निम्न मंत्र का पाठ करें –
‘ॐ ऐहि सूर्य सहस्त्रांशों तेजोराशे जगत्पते।
अनुकंपये माम भक्त्या गृहणार्घ्यं दिवाकर:।।’
‘ ॐ ह्रीं ह्रीं सूर्याय, सहस्त्रकिरणाय।
मनोवांछित फलं देहि देहि स्वाहा: ।।’ (3 बार)
- तत्पश्चात सीधे हाथ की अंजूरी में जल लेकर अपने चारों ओर छिड़कें।
- अपने स्थान पर ही तीन बार घुम कर परिक्रमा करें।
- आसन उठाकर उस स्थान को नमन करें।
