विशेष – नवमी को लौकी खाना गौमाँस के सामान त्याज्य है। (ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण, ब्रह्म खंडः 27.29-34)

🔹इन आठ पुष्पों से भगवान तुरंत प्रसन्न होते हैं । वे आठ पुष्प इस प्रकार हैं :-

🔸 (१) इन्द्रियनिग्रह : व्यर्थ देखने, सूँघने, सोचने, इधर-उधर व्यर्थ जगह पर भटकने की आदत को रोकना इसको कहते हैं इन्द्रियनिग्रहरूपी पुष्प ।

🔸 (२) अहिंसा : मन-वचन-कर्म से किसीको दुःख न देना ।

🔸 (३) निर्दोष प्राणियों पर दया : मूक एवं निर्दोष प्राणियों को न सताना । दोषी को अगर दंड भी देना हो तो उसके हित की भावना से देना ।

🔸 (४) क्षमारूपी पुष्प ।

🔸 (५) मनोनिग्रह (शम) : मन को एक जगह पर लगाने का अभ्यास करना, एकाग्र करना ।

🔸 (६) ध्यान: भगवान का ध्यान करना ।

🔸 (७) सत्य का पालन ।

🔸 (८) श्रद्धा : भगवान और भगवान को पाये हुए महापुरुषों में दृढ़ श्रद्धा रखना ।

🔹इन सात गुणों से सम्पन्न विद्यार्थी छू लेगा बुलंदियाँ

🔸’उत्साही, अदीर्घसूत्री (कार्य को शीघ्र पूर्ण करनेवाला), क्रिया की विधि को जाननेवाला, व्यसनों से दूर रहनेवाला, शूर, कृतज्ञ तथा स्थिर मित्रता वाले मनुष्य को सफलताएँ, सिद्धियाँ स्वयं ढूँढ़ने लगती हैं ।’

🔸हे विद्यार्थी ! कल्याण करनेवाली ये सात बातें अच्छी तरह से अपने जीवन में लाना । मित्र करो । उत्साहरहित नहीं, उत्साही बनो। दीर्घसूत्री (कार्य को देर से करनेवाला) नहीं, अदीर्घसूत्री हो । आज पढ़ने का पाठ कल पढ़ेंगे, बाद में करेंगे, ऐसा नहीं । जिस समय का जो काम है वह उस समय कर ही लेना चाहिए, बाद के लिए नहीं रखना चाहिए । काम करने की विधि को ठीक तरह से जान लो फिर सुनियोजन करके काम शुरू करो ।

🔸फास्ट फूड, डबल रोटी, पिज्जा, कोल्ड ड्रिंक्स, चाय-कॉफी, पान-मसाला – ये सत्यानाश करते, करते और करते ही हैं । इसलिए इनके सेवन से बचो ।

🔸डरपोक जैसे विचार नहीं, शूरवीर जैसे विचार करो । किसीका उपकार न भूलो । अस्थिर मित्र नहीं, सज्जन, अच्छे मित्र बनाओ। परम स्थिर मित्र तो परमात्मा है, उसका तुम ध्यान करो । बाहर भी अच्छे, चरित्रवान, सत्संगी स्थिर मित्र करो ।

🔸ये सात गुण जिस विद्यार्थी के जीवन में हैं, जिस मनुष्य के जीवन में हैं, आज नहीं तो कल सफलता उसके चरण चूमती है ।
