ICICI Bank Branch on Nalanda University Campus

Rajgir, Nalanda (09 December, 2025): Nalanda University has an ICICI Bank branch within its institutional premises, representing a notable advancement in the provision of fundamental banking services to its academic community. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice Chancellor of the University, with attendance from senior administrative personnel and official representatives from ICICI Bank.

In his remarks, Prof. Chaturvedi stressed the importance of financial inclusion as a driver of institutional and community development. He also announced that the Sahbhāgitā initiative’s five neighboring villages should be brought under the branch’s service umbrella, extending banking access beyond the campus.

The new branch is expected to greatly benefit students, faculty, staff, and local residents by providing accessible and reliable banking services within the campus.

Nalanda University, DTF Sign MoU on Indian Knowledge Systems

Nalanda University announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dattopant Thengadi Foundation (DTF) to foster collaboration and deepen engagement with Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). The partnership aims to explore the socio-legal and economic dimensions of IKS and their application in contemporary Indian education through joint research, initiatives, and dialogue.

The MoU was inked at the Nalanda University campus in the presence of Vice Chancellor Professor Sachin Chaturvedi and Shri Virjesh Upadhyay, Director General of the DTF, along with other senior representatives from both institutions.

Nalanda University has long promoted Indian knowledge traditions, and this MoU is expected to bolster research, innovation, and constructive dialogue around India’s civilizational knowledge. The collaboration underscores the university’s commitment to preserving and disseminating India’s intellectual heritage.

NU Unveils Five-Day Net-Zero Executive Course

Earlier, Nalanda University announced a five-day residential Executive Certificate Course in Net-Zero Strategy, December 25–29, 2025, at the Net-Zero Campus in Rajgir. The program, organized with C-NEXT and Environmental Design Solutions (EDS), targets professionals, officials, and young leaders to advance Net-Zero India through energy, water, waste management, mobility, and behavioral change.

VC Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi emphasized leadership and practical cultural change alongside technical knowledge. Highlights include design thinking, AI-enabled sustainability tools, campus visits, and a Net-Zero roadmap for participants. For details and registration, visit the university website.
