Dipankar Bhattacharya to Visit Pirpainti today

Patna, October 1, 2025: Under the leadership of CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, a high-level party delegation will visit Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district on October 2.

The visit is being organized to protest against the proposed power project, under which 1,050 acres of fertile land have reportedly been handed over to the Adani Group at the nominal rate of just 1 rupee.

The deal threatens large-scale damage to the environment and the lives of farmers. Reports suggest that nearly 1 million trees will be felled for the project and a large number of rural families will face forced displacement. The party has termed the deal a betrayal of the people of Bihar and its agrarian economy.

Before departing from Patna, Bhattacharya called the land transfer to Adani an outright scam. He stated that the party would expose the difference between the processes and conditions of NTPC’s power plant and Adani’s power project before the public. The delegation will hold direct meetings with farmers and affected families and push to make this a major political issue at the state level.

He further said that on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, the visit to Pirpainti will mark a renewed commitment to defending people’s rights, protecting land, and conserving the environment.

The visit will also include MLA Rambali Singh Yadav and former MLA Manoj Manzil. All leaders will reach Bhagalpur tonight and head to Pirpainti tomorrow morning.
