बुद्धि का विकास और नाश कैसे होता है ?

बुद्धि का नाश कैसे होता है और विकास कैसे होता है ? विद्यार्थियों को तो ख़ास समझना चाहिए न ! बुद्धि नष्ट कैसे होती है ? बुद्धि: शोकेन नश्यति । भूतकाल कि बातें याद करके ‘ऐसा नहीं हुआ, वैसा नही हुआ…’ ऐसा करके जो चिंता करते हैं न , उनकी बुद्धि का नाश होता है । और ‘मैं ऐसा करके ऐसा बनूंगा, ऐसा बनूंगा…’ यह चिंतन बुद्धि-नाश तो नहीं करता लेकिन बुद्धि को भ्रमित कर देता है । और ‘मैं कौन हूँ ? सुख-दुःख को देखनेवाला कौन ? बचपन बीत गया फिर भी जो नहीं बीता वह कौन ? जवानी बदल रही है, सुख-दुःख बदल रहा है , सब बदल रहा है, इसको जाननेवाला मैं कौन हूँ ? प्रभु ! मुझे बताओ …’ इस प्रकार का चिंतन, थोड़ा अपने को खोजना, भगवान के नाम का जप और शास्त्र का पठन करना- इससे बुद्धि ऐसी बढ़ेगी, ऐसी बढ़ेगी कि दुनिया का प्रसिद्द बुद्धिमान भी उसके चरणों में सिर झुकायेगा ।

जप करने से, ध्यान करने से बुद्धि का विकास होता है । जरा – जरा बात में दु:खी काहे को होना ? जरा – जरा बात में प्रभावित काहे को होना ? ‘यह मिल गया, वह मिल गया…’ मिल गया तो क्या है !
ज्यादा सुखी – दु:खी होना यह कम बुद्धिवाले का काम है । जैसे बच्चे की कम बुद्धि होती है तो जरा- से चॉकलेट में, जरा-सी चीज में खुश हो जाता है, और जरा-सी चीज हटी तो दु:खी हो जाता है । वही जब बड़ा होता है तो चार आने का चॉकलेट आया तो क्या, गया तो क्या ! ऐसे ही संसार की जरा-जरा सुविधा में जो अपने को भाग्यशाली मानता है उसकी बुद्धि का विकास नहीं होता और जो जरा-से नुकसान में आपने को अभागा मानता है उसकी बुद्धि मारी जाती है । अरे ! यह सब सपना है, आता-जाता है । जो रहता है, उस नित्य तत्त्व में जो टिके उसकी बुद्धि तो गजब की विकसित होती है ! सुख-दुःख में, लाभ-हानि में, मान-अपमान में सम रहना तो बुद्धि परमात्मा में स्थित रहेगी और स्थित बुद्धि ही महान हो जायेगी ।
