अक्षय तृतीया
10 मई 2024 शुक्रवार को अक्षय तृतीया है
‘अक्षय’ शब्द का मतलब है- जिसका क्षय या नाश न हो। इस दिन किया हुआ जप, तप, ज्ञान तथा दान अक्षय फल देने वाला होता है अतः इसे ‘अक्षय तृतीया’ कहते हैं। भविष्यपुराण, मत्स्यपुराण, पद्मपुराण, विष्णुधर्मोत्तर पुराण, स्कन्दपुराण में इस तिथि का विशेष उल्लेख है। इस दिन जो भी शुभ कार्य किए जाते हैं, उनका बड़ा ही श्रेष्ठ फल मिलता है। इस दिन सभी देवताओं व पित्तरों का पूजन किया जाता है। पित्तरों का श्राद्ध कर धर्मघट दान किए जाने का उल्लेख शास्त्रों में है। वैशाख मास भगवान विष्णु को अतिप्रिय है अतः विशेषतः विष्णु जी की पूजा करें।
स्कन्दपुराण के अनुसार, जो मनुष्य अक्षय तृतीया को सूर्योदय काल में प्रातः स्नान करते हैं और भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करके कथा सुनते हैं, वे मोक्ष के भागी होते हैं। जो उस दिन मधुसूदन की प्रसन्नता के लिए दान करते हैं, उनका वह पुण्यकर्म भगवान की आज्ञा से अक्षय फल देता है।
भविष्यपुराण के मध्यमपर्व में कहा गया है वैशाख शुक्ल पक्ष की तृतीया में गंगाजी में स्नान करनेवाला सब पापों से मुक्त हो जाता है | वैशाख मास की तृतीया स्वाती नक्षत्र और माघ की तृतीया रोहिणीयुक्त हो तथा आश्विन तृतीया वृषराशि से युक्त हो तो उसमें जो भी दान दिया जाता है, वह अक्षय होता है | विशेषरूप से इनमें हविष्यान्न एवं मोदक देनेसे अधिक लाभ होता है तथा गुड़ और कर्पूर से युक्त जलदान करनेवाले की विद्वान् पुरुष अधिक प्रंशसा करते हैं, वह मनुष्य ब्रह्मलोक में पूजित होता है | यदि बुधवार और श्रवण से युक्त तृतीया हो तो उसमें स्नान और उपवास करनेसे अनंत फल प्राप्त होता हैं |
अस्यां तिथौ क्षयमुर्पति हुतं न दत्तं ।
तेनाक्षयेति कथिता मुनिभिस्तृतीया ।
उद्दिश्य दैवतपितृन्क्रियते मनुष्यै: ।
तत् च अक्षयं भवति भारत सर्वमेव ।।
अर्थ : भगवान श्रीकृष्ण युधिष्ठरसे कहते हैं, हे राजन इस तिथि पर किए गए दान व हवन का क्षय नहीं होता है; इसलिए हमारे ऋषि-मुनियोंने इसे ‘अक्षय तृतीया’ कहा है । इस तिथि पर भगवानकी कृपादृष्टि पाने एवं पितरोंकी गतिके लिए की गई विधियां अक्षय-अविनाशी होती हैं ।

Akshaya Tritiya
Akshaya Tritiya is on Friday 10th May 2024
The word ‘Akshay’ means that which does not decay or destroy. The chanting, penance, knowledge and donations done on this day give eternal results, hence it is called ‘Akshay Tritiya’. There is special mention of this date in Bhavishyapuran, Matsyapuran, Padmapuran, Vishnudharmottara Puran, Skandapuran. Whatever auspicious work is done on this day, one gets very good results. On this day all the gods and ancestors are worshipped. There is mention in the scriptures of donating Dharmaghat after performing Shraddha of ancestors. Vaishakh month is very dear to Lord Vishnu, hence worship Lord Vishnu especially.
According to Skandapuran, those people who take bath in the morning at sunrise on Akshaya Tritiya and worship Lord Vishnu and listen to the story, are eligible for salvation. Those who donate for the happiness of Madhusudan on that day, their good deeds give inexhaustible results by the permission of God.
It is said in Madhyam Parva of Bhavishya Purana that one who takes bath in Ganga on the third day of Vaishakh Shukla Paksha becomes free from all sins. If the Tritiya of Vaishakh month is associated with Swati Nakshatra and the Tritiya of Magha is associated with Rohini and Ashwin Tritiya is associated with Taurus, then whatever donation is given on that day is eternal. Especially among these, giving Havishyanna and Modak is more beneficial and the one who donates water mixed with jaggery and camphor is praised more by learned men, that person is worshiped in Brahmalok. If there is a Wednesday and Tritiya associated with Shravan, then taking bath and fasting on that day gives infinite results.
