23 मई 2024 गुरुवार को वैशाखी पूर्णिमा है ।
वैशाखी पूर्णिमा को ‘धर्मराज व्रत’ कहा गया है | यह पूर्णिमा दान-धर्मादि के अनेक कार्य करने के लिए बड़ी ही पवित्र तिथि है | इस दिन गरीबों में अन्न, वस्त्र, टोपियाँ, जूते-चप्पल, छाते, छाछ या शर्बत , सत्संग के सत्साहित्य आदि का वितरण करना चाहिए | अपने स्नेहियों, मित्रों को सत्साहित्य, सत्संग की वीसीडी, डीवीडी, मेमोरी कार्ड आदि भेंट में दे सकते हैं |
इस दिन यदि तिलमिश्रित जल से स्नान कर घी, शर्करा और तिल से भरा हुआ पात्र भगवान विष्णु को निवेदन करें और उन्हीं से अग्नि में आहुति दें अथवा तिल और शहद का दान करें, तिल के तेल के दीपक जलाये, जल और तिल से तर्पण करें अथवा गंगादि में स्नान करें तो सब पापों से निवृत्त हो जाते हैं | यदि उस दिन एक समय भोजन करके पूर्ण-व्रत करें तो सब प्रकार की सुख-सम्पदाएँ और श्रेय की प्राप्ति होती है |

वैशाख मास की पूर्णिमा की कितनी महिमा है !! इस पूर्णिमा को जो गंगा में स्नान करता है , भगवत गीता और विष्णु सहस्त्र नाम का पाठ करता है उसको जो पुण्य होता है उसका वर्णन इस भूलोक और स्वर्गलोक में कोई नहीं कर सकता उतना पुण्य होता है | ये बात स्कन्द पुराण में लिखी हुई है | अगर कोई विष्णु सहस्त्र नाम का पाठ न कर सके तो गुरु मंत्र की १० माला जादा कर ले अपने नियम से |
वैशाख पूर्णिमा के दिन पीपल के पेड़ के नीचे सरसों के तेल का दीपक प्रज्ज्वलित करना चाहिए। ऐसा करने से कार्यों की बाधाएं दूर होती हैं और जातक को हर क्षेत्र में सफलता मिलती है।
वैशाख पूर्णिमा के दिन गंगा स्नान का विशेष महत्व है। इसलिए इस दिन गंगा स्नान करें। अगर आप गंगा स्नान के लिए नहीं जा पा रहे हैं, तो घर में ही नहाने के पानी में थोड़ा सा गंगाजल डालकर स्नान कर लें। ऐसा करने से गंगा में स्नान करने के बराबर पुण्य की प्राप्ति होती है।

Vaishakhi Purnima is on Thursday, 23 May 2024.
Vaisakhi Purnima has been called ‘Dharmaraja Vrat’. This Purnima is a very sacred date for doing many charitable works. On this day, food, clothes, caps, shoes, slippers, umbrellas, buttermilk or sherbet, good literature of satsang etc. should be distributed among the poor. You can gift good literature, satsang VCDs, DVDs, memory cards etc. to your loved ones and friends.
On this day, if you take a bath with water mixed with sesame seeds and offer a vessel filled with ghee, sugar and sesame seeds to Lord Vishnu and offer it to him in the fire or donate sesame seeds and honey, light a lamp with sesame oil, and offer tarpan with water and sesame seeds. Or if you take bath in Ganga river then you will be freed from all sins. If one observes a complete fast after eating one meal on that day, one attains all kinds of happiness, wealth and credit.

How glorious is the full moon of Vaishakh month!! On this full moon day, the one who takes bath in Ganga, recites Bhagwat Geeta and Vishnu Sahastra Naam, the virtue that is achieved by him is such a virtue that no one in this earth or heaven can describe. This thing is written in Skanda Purana. If someone is unable to recite Vishnu Sahastra Naam, then he should do 10 more rosaries of Guru Mantra as per his own rules.
On the day of Vaishakh Purnima, a mustard oil lamp should be lit under the Peepal tree. By doing this, obstacles in work are removed and the person gets success in every field.
Bathing in Ganga on the day of Vaishakh Purnima has special significance. Therefore, take a bath in the Ganga on this day. If you are not able to go for Ganga bath, then add a little Ganga water to the bathing water and take bath at home. By doing this one attains virtue equivalent to bathing in the Ganga.
