विशेष – चतुर्थी को मूली खाने से धन का नाश होता है । पंचमी को बेल खाने से कलंक लगता है ।(ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण, ब्रह्म खंडः 27.29-34)

चैत्र नवरात्रि

नवरात्रि की चतुर्थी तिथि की प्रमुख देवी मां कूष्मांडा हैं। देवी कूष्मांडा रोगों को तुरंत नष्ट करने वाली हैं । इनकी भक्ति करने वाले श्रद्धालु को धन-धान्य और संपदा के साथ-साथ अच्छा स्वास्थ्य भी प्राप्त होता है । मां दुर्गा के इस चतुर्थ रूप कूष्मांडा ने अपने उदर से अंड अर्थात ब्रह्मांड को उत्पन्न किया । इसी वजह से दुर्गा के इस स्वरूप का नाम कूष्मांडा पड़ा ।

मां कूष्मांडा के पूजन से हमारे शरीर का अनाहत चक्रजागृत होता है । इनकी उपासना से हमारे समस्त रोग व शोक दूर हो जाते हैं । साथ ही, भक्तों को आयु, यश, बल और आरोग्य के साथ-साथ सभी भौतिक और आध्यात्मिक सुख भी प्राप्त होते हैं।

आज चैत्र नवरात्र का चतुर्थ दिन है, आदिशक्ति श्री दुर्गा का चतुर्थ रूप श्री कूष्मांडा हैं। नवरात्रि के चतुर्थ दिन इनकी पूजा और आराधना की जाती है। पूरा संसार कूष्मांडा ही है। पौराणिक आख्यानों में कूष्मांडा देवी ब्रह्मांड को पैदा करती हैं। अपने उदर से अंड अर्थात् ब्रह्मांड को उत्पन्न करने के कारण इन्हें कूष्मांडा देवी के नाम से पुकारा जाता है। कूष्मांडा देवी की कल्पना एक गर्भवती स्त्री के रूप में की गई है अर्थात् जो गर्भस्थ होने के कारण भूमि से अलग नहीं है। इन देवी को ही तृष्णा और तृप्ति का कारण माना गया है। संस्कृत भाषा में कूष्माण्ड कूम्हडे को कहा जाता है, कूम्हडे की बलि इन्हें प्रिय है, इस कारण भी इन्हें कूष्मांडा के नाम से जाना जाता है। बलियों में कुम्हड़े की बलि इन्हें सर्वाधिक पसंद है। इसलिए भी इन्हें कूष्मांडा कहा जाता है।।

दुर्गा सप्तशती के कवच में लिखा है-:
कुत्सित: कूष्मा कूष्मा-त्रिविधतापयुत: संसार:, स अण्डेमांसपेश्यामुदररूपायां यस्या: सा कूष्मांडा.”
अर्थ-:
वह देवी जिनके उदर में त्रिविध तापयुक्त संसार स्थित है वह कूष्मांडा हैं। देवी कूष्मांडा इस चराचार जगत की अधिष्ठात्री हैं। जब सृष्टि की रचना नहीं हुई थी उस समय अंधकार का साम्राज्य था। देवी कुष्मांडा जिनका मुखमंडल सैकड़ों सूर्य की प्रभा से प्रदिप्त है उस समय प्रकट हुई उनके मुख पर बिखरी मुस्कुराहट से सृष्टि की पलकें झपकनी शुरू हो गयी और जिस प्रकार फूल में अण्ड का जन्म होता है उसी प्रकार कुसुम अर्थात् फूल के समान मां की हंसी से सृष्टि में ब्रह्मण्ड का जन्म हुआ। देवी कूष्मांडा सूयमंडल में निवास करती हैं और यह सूर्य मंडल को अपने संकेत से नियंत्रित रखती हैं।।

मां कुष्मांडा का स्वरूप-:
मां कूष्मांडा की आठ भुजाएं हैं। इसलिए इन्हें अष्टभुजा देवी भी कहा जाता है। मां दाहिने प्रथम हाथ में कुंभ अपनी कोख से लगाए हुए हैं, जो गर्भावस्था का प्रतीक माना जाता है। दूसरे हाथ में चक्र, तीसरे में गदा और चौथे में देवी सिद्धियों और निधियों का जाप करने वाली माला को धारण करती हैं। बांए प्रथम हाथ में कमल पुष्प, द्वितीय में शर, तृतीय में धनुष तथा चतुर्थ में कमंडल लिए हुए है। देवी अपने प्रिय वाहन सिंह पर सवार हैं।

कूष्मांडा मां सिंह पर आरूढ़, शांत मुद्रा की भक्तवत्सल देवी हैं। श्री कूष्मांडा के पूजन से अनाहत चक्र जाग्रति की सिद्धियां प्राप्त होती हैं। श्री कूष्मांडा की उपासना से जटिल से जटिल रोगों से मुक्ति मिलती है, सभी कष्ट दूर हो जाते हैं, भक्तों के समस्त रोग-शोक नष्ट हो जाते हैं। इनकी भक्ति से आरोग्यता के साथ-साथ आयु और यश की प्राप्ति होती है। इसलिए इस दिन अत्यंत पवित्र और शांत मन से मां कूष्मांडा की उपासना संपूर्ण विधि-विधान से करनी चाहिए।

मां कुष्मांडा का भोग प्रसाद-:
मां कूष्मांडा लाल गुलाब चढ़ाने पर अति प्रसन्न होती हैं। मालपुआ का भोग लगाएं।
इस उपाय से बुद्धि भी कुशाग्र होती है,रोगों से निजात, दीर्घजीवन, प्रसिद्धि और शोहरत पाने के रास्ते खुलते हैं।

मां कुष्मांडा का मंत्र-:
देवी कूष्मांडा की पूजा करने से पहले हाथों में फूल लेकर देवी को प्रणाम कर इस मंत्र का ध्यान करें-:

“सुरासम्पूर्णकलशं रूधिराप्लुतमेव च। दधानाहस्तपद्याभ्यां कुष्माण्डा शुभदास्तु में॥”

देवी की पूजा के पश्चात महादेव और परम पिता की पूजा करनी चाहिए।

मां कुष्मांडा का मंत्र-:
या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु मां कूष्माण्डा रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:।।

नवरात्रि के चौथे दिन यानी चतुर्थी तिथि को माता दुर्गा को मालपुआ का भोग लगाएं । इससे समस्याओं का अंत होता है ।

कर्ज-निवारण व धन-वृद्धि हेतु रखें इन बातों का विशेष ध्यान

झाडू को कभी पैर न लगायें ।

भोजन बनाने के बाद तवा, कढ़ाई या अन्य बर्तन चूल्हे से उतारकर नीचे रखें ।

घर के दरवाजे को कभी भी पैर से ठोकर मार के न खोलें ।

देहली (दहलीज) पर बैठकर कभी भोजन न करें ।
सुबह शाम की पहली रोटी गाय के लिए बनायें व समय-अनुकूलता अनुसार खिला दें ।

घर के बड़ों को प्रणाम करें । उनके आशीर्वाद से घर में बरकत आती है ।

रसोईघर में जूठे बर्तन कभी भी नहीं रखें तथा रात्रि में जूठे बर्तन साफ करके ही रखें ।

घर में गलत जगह शौचालय बन गया हो तो शौचालय में नमक रखने से नकारात्मक ऊर्जा का प्रभाव दूर होता है । नमक को शौचालय के अलावा कहीं भी खुला न रखें । इससे धन-नाश होता है ।

घर की नकारात्मक ऊर्जा (negative energy) दूर करने के लिए हफ्ते में एक बार नमक मिले पानी से पोंछा लगायें ।

घर में जितनी भी घड़ियाँ हों उन्हें चालू रखें, बंद होने पर तुरंत ठीक करायें, धनागम अच्छा होगा ।

घर की छत पर टूटी कुर्सियाँ, बंद घड़ियाँ, गत्ते के खाली डिब्बे, बोतलें, मूर्तियाँ या कबाड़ नहीं रखना चाहिए।

घर में जाला या काई न लगने दें ।

घर की दीवारों व फर्श पर पेंसिल, चाक आदि के निशान होने से कर्ज चढ़ता है । निशान हों तो मिटा दें ।

बाधाओं से सुरक्षा हेतु हल्दी व चावल पीसकर उसके घोल से या केवल हल्दी से घर के प्रवेश द्वार पर ॐ बना दें ।

प्रतिदिन प्रातः सूर्योदय के पूर्व उठकर स्नान करें, स्वच्छ वस्त्र पहनें । असत्य वचन न बोलें । पूजाघर में दीपक व गौ-चंदन धूपबत्ती जलायें । हो सके तो ताजे पुष्प चढ़ायें और तुलसी या रुद्राक्ष की माला से अपने गुरुमंत्र का कम से कम १००० बार (१० माला) जप करें । जिन्होंने मंत्रदीक्षा नहीं ली हो वे जो भी भगवन्नाम प्रिय लगता हो उसका जप करें ।

The main goddess of Chaturthi Tithi of Navratri is Maa Kushmanda. Goddess Kushmanda is the destroyer of diseases instantly. Meaning-:
The goddess in whose womb the world of triple heat is situated is Kushmanda. Goddess Kushmanda is the presiding deity of this pastoral world. When the universe was not created, there was the empire of darkness. Goddess Kushmanda, whose face is illuminated with the radiance of hundreds of suns, the universe started blinking due to the smile spread on her face and just as an egg is born in a flower, in the same way, the creation started with the laughter of mother like Kusum i.e. flower. The universe was born. Goddess Kushmanda resides in the solar system and controls the solar system with her signs.

Nature of Mother Kushmanda:
Mother Kushmanda has eight arms. That is why she is also called Ashtabhuja Devi. Mother is holding Aquarius in her right first hand, which is considered a symbol of pregnancy. In the second hand the Goddess holds a Chakra, in the third she holds a mace and in the fourth she holds a rosary chanting the Goddess Siddhis and Nidhis. The left hand is holding a lotus flower in the first hand, a sword in the second, a bow in the third and a kamandal in the fourth. The goddess is riding on her favorite vehicle, a lion.

Kushmanda Maa is a devotee goddess of calm posture, mounted on a lion. By worshiping Shri Kushmanda one attains the achievements of awakening the Anahata Chakra. By worshiping Shri Kushmanda, one gets relief from the most complex diseases, all the troubles go away, all the diseases and sorrows of the devotees get destroyed. Their devotion leads to health as well as longevity and fame. Therefore, on this day, Goddess Kushmanda should be worshiped with complete rituals with a very pure and calm mind.
